It's been two months since I applied for an OpenSats grant for chachi and I haven't heard back so I guess no news is bad news :Sadge: Probably one of the reasons is that they've funded a few NIP-29 projects already (0xChat, Flotilla, groups, that one nostr:npub1zfss807aer0j26mwp2la0ume0jqde3823rmu97ra6sgyyg956e0s6xw445 was working on can't remember the name) and the field is a bit saturated. Or maybe my project sucks lol. I'll keep shipping anyway and find a way to make it sustainable, I'm bullish af on NIP-29 specially with goats like nostr:npub149p5act9a5qm9p47elp8w8h3wpwn2d7s2xecw2ygnrxqp4wgsklq9g722q and nostr:npub1wf4pufsucer5va8g9p0rj5dnhvfeh6d8w0g6eayaep5dhps6rsgs43dgh9 entering the game.

Should be much faster. Open sats should keep a list of devs who deliver and give them faster feedback. If you have someone who is super talented and super passionate about the protocol, don’t make them wait regardless of the decision.

Good to know though, I've been thinking about applying for a small grant for Zaplab/Zapchat too (and being transparent about the approximate amount I'd get).
Keep I mind that they probably literally didn't find the time/people yet 😜.
I know they are super busy, I've seen first hand that they are doing a great job and I have tremendous respect for everyone in the committee but having to wait so long makes me anxious.
I would love to see Zaplab getting funded too, I think we are onto something huge here.

I wish they were much more transparent about the application process. I'm in the same boat with an application for WalletScrutiny and it's been months, too, with no reply. OpenSats at this point is a nostr king-maker as they have by far the most funds to distribute yet it feels sluggish. That reminds me a bit of the bitcointalk donations where something was promised for years with Bitocin going up in value and I have no idea what happened with these donations in the end as I moved on from bitcoin talk like probably everybody else, too.

Patience. Obviously the comms could be better but it takes a long time to go thru and vet the massive inbound that orgs like OpenSats get. OpenSats also need to have board majority to approve a grant so it will take time. Consider putting in multiple grant apps as well so you are not reliant on 1 orgs process. You can apply to HRF’s bitcoin development fund at hrf.org/bdfapply
