Me too. Gentoo wasn’t that bad either, but compiling updates was a pain.

Arch is just Linux that doesn’t hold your hand, but doesn’t get in your way either (I’m looking at you Ubuntu)

In Ubuntu's defense, it was my first working box (around 2005, I guess). At that time, I tried everything I could (even YellowDog), but none worked. After getting my first Linux running, in a few weeks I switched to Debian. Maaany years ago. So yes, Ubuntu helped me a lot, but it's not cool anymore.

I works agree, before canonical became stupid, it was a very cool distro, and a lot of people’s gateway to Linux.
