In case Bitcoin transaction fees go up, it’s nice to have a cost-efficient alternative for sending BTC.

One of those is Liquid (yes you gotta trust the federation)…here is a comparison of SideSwap.io and @Boltz - Non-Custodial Bitcoin Bridge two services that allow you to move your funds to L-BTC and back to BTC.

Here are the differences in the fees you pay for a peg-out or swap and an explainer how it works

I can also recommend coinos.io (custodial) Swaps are carried out automatically within the app when sending and receiving (Lightning, BTC, Liquid, Ecash) The fee from Coinos is also 0.1%.

I like Coinos and recommend it

Why not use LN? πŸ€”

because when BTC on-chain fees are high it's cheaper to resize LN channels from L-BTC

also, keeping large amount of BTC in LN for long time might be bit risky due to LN channels not be stable enough overtime.

Exactly, I would not put a high amount on LN at the moment, not even in LN self-custody.

Also for beginners I find something like nostr:npub1ajlrwgfj4yerhqf7ady03h7wmtk2qr3gs7h3sxcx83k05yld36sswpzx3q easier to use than to understand the implications of opening a LN channel. As LN and its wallets evolve this could change.

I hope https://spark.info/ based wallets solve this problems.

Wait till we show you the power of ark... πŸ’ͺ

how long? πŸ˜‰

You'd be surprised, shorter than you think!

I'm honestly curious. no pun intended.

there is more competition rising on the horizon... worth keeping an eye on it.
