Vitalik had immense power and resources available at a young age. Even though I don't support his creation, I respect the hell out of him and the way he stayed true to himself and his larger mission of being a leader of a pretty big movement.

Lots of other power-hungry people in a similar position would've lost their focus already and would post cringe AI-generated images of themselves posing as a holy apostle or something.

Autism helps

Autism helps at not caring what other people think of you (cf. regular vitalik videos in which he acts "weird" and gets shit from normies) – but apparently it doesn't protect you from posting AI cringe.

I was thinking the same yesterday but couldnt put the words on it, you nails it.

He takes too much credit on the creation of Ethereum, he really just is the PR guy.

The moat of the work is in the EVM and all the tools and languages that was built around it.

He did a ton of false claims and bad choices on Ethereum scalability and use cases, side chains, ethereum to be used as a social layer, file storage etc.

Last but not least the move from POW to POS probably killed the network on the long run.

What would have been respectful would have been for him to walk away from the ETH foundation. With its huge stack of premined ETH…

Cashu is a way better alternative to the EVM in 99% of the cases, lots of app rely entirely on stablecoins, which basically have the same cons as ecash minus the privacy.

But what about the splurge?

And the scourge?

dont forget "proto danksharding"🤣

Nah.

Autism meets grifter vibes.

From the beginning.

“digital energy” hurt you bad and it shows lol

Was the change from PoW to PoS staying true to himself? Or out of his control?

Just a technical decision, probably a mistake. Has nothing to do with his personal traits which is what I talked about.

Fair

He presents as a very scared child, emotionally.

Hyper intelligent, yet with the PTSD of a severely neglected and/or abused child.

My first instinct was always to feel immense sadness for/towards him 😔

Idk, he strikes me as someone who started out in good faith but he quickly understood the whole thing was a false bill of goods pretty early on and didn't do anything about it for reasons I don't understand.

The autism thing idk about that. 🤷

But he does not seem materialistic nor greedy in the least, which is def a good thing.

Ok, there are worse people than Vitalik, but I can't respect him either.

I think he has caused lots of problems, and I doubt he wasn't aware of them, while he clearly looked for power and money.

Comparison; the thief of Joy 😢
