Hyperthetical: WikiLeaks (or similar) releases something juicy to nostr.

How quickly before the powers that be shut it down?. What happens first? Relays shut down, operators arrested? Media hosts seized?

What are the attack vectors? 🤔

Would an orgnsization have to post the leak, or should leaks happen via anon npubs?

If all the big relays go dark, people would spin up new relays for sure. Can those new relays be comminicated to others without using non-nostr services. Would peole find each other? 🤔

That’s a great question. I was thinking about why the word ‘resistant’ is used alongside censorship.

I talked a bit about this on today's episode titled nostrLeaks.

I am hoping we can use the tech behind dtan.xyz to spread leaks across multiple relays but I have no idea what that looks like but I think something is going to happen in this direction.

I doubt you would release the data to nostr - you would just use nostr relays to host the torrent file. P2P is ultimately more censorship resistant.

Fair point - just using nostr and the delovery method for the torrent would make sense 🧐

If I were the USG... search for references to the data, collect npubs, collect relays those users are on, repeat. Pull the DNS of any relay with the data on it, then offer to reinstate once content filtering is implemented.
