Somewhere, there is always the greatest tragedy unfolding…and somewhere else, the greatest triumphs…but an awful lot of stuff happens in hospitals. It’s not an easy place to be. But it is a good reminder to love the life you have.

This is #[6]

preposterous…

🤣 in all seriousness my parents hold a tiny amount of sats for the first time but still don’t understand much about it. I offered a 100% back on their purchase if the held for 1 month which was today. They are game for trying to learn more, mostly due to my convictions.

I got really, really close with my pops. He finally got it, but then was…”meh I’ll be dead before the total USD collapse.”

Also figures he already has enough land, antibiotics, and guns/bullets. 3/4 ain’t bad I suppose.

Should never forget we made it this far.

Haha! Ten years in bitcon and I still have trouble answering this question. I should probably write my own book.

My first "a-ha!" moment came from watching videos of Andreas Antonopoulos. It was hard to find good content at the time, so I mostly lurked on the r/bitcoin subreddit and Bitcoin Talk forums, and tried to make sense of it all. Of course, I thought I was late, and felt like I had a lot of catching up to do. I also watched #[6] on YouTube, and found my way to local meetups to try to meet bitcoiners in person.

I recommend that everyone read Inventing Bitcoin by Yan Pritzker, and follow it up with The Blocksize War by Jonathan Bier both read by #[7] – and while you're at it, subscribe to the Bitcoin Audible podcast, where you'll hear excepts from all of the best bitcoin content as well as his own hot takes, which are always enlightening. If you just start there, you will organically find your way to other great resources.

Your parents might also enjoy listening to The Price of Tomorrow by #[8] which is less of a book about bitcoin, and more about how how technological progress leads to deflation, but bitcoin still plays an important part.

It's hard to not get really excited and start pelting people with information, but remember that not everyone is in the place where you want them to be, and they will need to come around to this discovery on their own. You can't force it.
