Hate Speech — Is the State looking for more slaves for the prison system? The US has more prisoners per capita. Literally, enslaving people for being rude.

Was told yesterday that this is because of the privatization of prisons… never mind that if they were all controlled by the state, they would just purely cost taxpayers more to house the same number of inmates.
That's absolutely true...
Proving once again that the State is not benevolent. Politicians do not have your best interests in mind. You're just cattle...

It's worse than that. The state gets charged for empty beds in prisons.
We need to agree, as a society, to enforce the laws on our books, across the board, or remove those “laws” so they aren’t enforced selectively… then we need to decide specific punishment and sentencing requirements and stick to them.
Instead, I hear, “ban this, make that illegal…”
But when it comes time to enforce it, 🤐
It’s so sad. The criminal justice system is so broke. I listened to a good podcast that shed some light into it, Serial Podcast season 3. A lot needs to change
