My wife too 🙂

That's some #BloomScrolling I can get behind 🌸

Orchids are rad as fuck.

Did you know there are like ~28,000 species of orchids?

Fucking wild.

These guys fuck!

That’s so punk. So edgy.

The Botanical Industrial Complex wants you to throw your orchids away after the flowers fall off. I say “fuck that noise.” The second bloom is even more beautiful—and far more satisfying—than the first. And don’t get me started on the THIRD bloom!

I also refuse to buy cut flowers. Why pay for a dead flower? So whenever I get flowers for nostr:npub1hu3hdctm5nkzd8gslnyedfr5ddz3z547jqcl5j88g4fame2jd08qh6h8nh I get her living orchids, then keep them alive indefinitely.

this is the way

Can't shake my mental montage of you taking in nearly-dead orchids and bringing them back to life to the soundtrack of Against All Odds

Any tips to share?

If you want to rehab an orchid:

Cut the spike above the node if it’s green, or trim it entirely if it’s brown or dead.

Remove the orchid from its pot and inspect the roots. Trim away any dead or rotted roots.

Water sparingly, allowing the medium to dry out between waterings. Avoid overwatering.

Place the orchid in bright, indirect light but avoid direct sunlight.

Do they enjoy direct light once they have regrown a bit?

Thanks a lot!

We'll see how it goes... ☺️🫂

So does my mother. She’s good at it.
