I would only add that if needing to defecate happens to you *every time* you drink coffee then maybe see specialist, could be IBS or some other intestinal issue.
That was a more in-depth reply than expected. Only occurs in the morning so it's kinda a routine.

If you want this cat's advice consider changing your coffee intake schedule.
Wait at least one hour after waking up before drinking qny coffee, this allows your body time to 'boot up' and you probably will want to go defecate naturally during that hour. I do this so that it doescnot mess with your cortisol levels. If you drink coffee early in the morning it can really affect your cortisol for the whole day, at least for my body this is true.
added benefit - that first cup is a pleasure to drink (mouth orgasm for real), instead of it being the routine I used to have where "I need coffee to wake up"

for me, that is just the moment i can't go back to bed... the coffee comes a bit later, as does breakfast, but a secret trick to getting a regular clock is eating at the same time every day, and i swear when you have to take a dump in the morning your brain turns on

I'm won't answer that but i will say that anything you consume, including food will result in peristalsis so you will have to releave yourself.
You can increase the effect with certain things we consume like ginger which has a mild to strong irritant effect.
Coffee and tea seem to do the same. I think that it has to do more with the heat of these liquids but coffee does have a mild irritant effect (such as rot gut if you drink too much) so... seems possible. feces in the large intestine cures (dries) as water passes from the large intestine to the body. in the morning I suspect after 8 hours of no liquids, we may be a 'little dry' inside.
PS if you have fresh ginger at home and are constipated then grate/chop a thumb sized piece of garlic and boil it in a small pot of water. strain, drink the ginger tea and you will poop.
PPS Confucius is rumoured to have said all meals should contain ginger (because it promotes digestion/movement).
