I do not like Apple products. I have never purchased an Apple product. That said, Apple and their cult-like following tend to set narratives and create new trends.

The eye tracking and hand tracking will help us shift into the next computing input era, from keyboard, to mouse, to voice, to these new gestures. This will change how we use and interact with computers moving forward.

This has a couple creepy aspects, but that will either fade into the background or sadly become the new normal in several years. If you can get past that issue and think about all of the other immersive computing aspects, you'll see that Vision Pro will change the world.

The creepiest aspect is the 2 way screen

I'm not a fan of that either. They tried to humanize people wearing VR headsets, so it didn't look like they were outside of the human moment. It just doesn't sit right with me, but I get what they tried to do. It's odd.

I achieved that age now where the world can do all that new stuff, but I'm out.

(not everything, but this in particular)

I understand you 100Ωͺ in this

Right. I'm not buying it, but that doesn't mean plenty of rich tech geeks won't buy it. In a couple years, Apple will release a cheaper Lite or SE version that isn't Pro and the next round of users will ape into the product.

Maybe, but this vr/metaverse narrative is something I reject from deep within my heart. It doesn't mean some things won't be cool or nice or handy, but I don't want to live in a world where everyone talks to avatars of the other person or walks around with a ski mask to 3d videograph stuff instead of living the stuff. Or sits alone in a pod while watching things on their head display. I'm not saying it will not happen because it might. Just me personally, I'm out.

Living entirely in VR? No thank you. Using VR as entertainment for an hour or two? Sure. I get that. I've spent way more time than that over the years playing video games. The coolest thing about entertainment like this is that you can take it off and go outside when you're done. It's the people that will get addicted to this that make it potentially bad. Apple limited the battery to two hours, but third party companies will absolutely make larger batteries for this. 😬

Addiction is the OS for the human brain.

Agree. That's why I limit my son's usage of his Oculus. I know how addictive games can be. I played World of Warcraft for over a decade πŸ˜‚

I’m a game addict too. Learning self control is key.

I don’t like VR at all. But maybe it’s because I’m old and cranky. Give me an Atari 1600 and a Yars Revenge cartridge and I’m happy

i'd love to play defender or jungle hunt again.

yes, this is their first really new product in a long time. And apparently, they prepared well, and announced it well. I am wary of apple, and their ecosystem. But they still create beautiful hardware

Beautiful hardware crippled by child-like software.

πŸ‘€ docs across the world after Apple releases their AR goggles with like 200+ knits per pixel be like 🀫🀐

Yeah, it will change the World to a worse place.

I’ve used the HoloLens from MS, which was a neat immersive experience. I’m guessing this is similar. Very cool tech and will be a good tool.
