True. I get sideways looks from the servers and then I return their sideways looks with up and down looks and then sideways looks and then itβs usually more awkward and we all move on.

Iβve been refused to be allowed to order a kids meal. Itβs happened enough I rarely bother asking.
What if you just got an appetizer and a side or something? That could be a way to recreate the smaller portion while getting a fairly well rounded meal (depending on the place)
I do that a lot actually. I also pick restaurants with small plates, sushi is a good option, or pick a meal that can be saved for leftovers.
