I'm torn.

I want to buy a beautiful piece of heirloom tool that I am sure that it will be put to massive use, but it's pricey.

Bitcoin is now 10% off and 400€ worth of SATs are a nice stack.

What should I do? #asknostr

gm BTW ☀️

GM, what’s the tool?

this magnificent no 5 by Lie Nielsen 😍

Oh wow, those fancy planes are nice! Too rich for me though, I’ve just got a couple of vintage Stanley’s

me too! I wanted a nice no. 5 because I have a cheap Record from the 80s (I presume) that I restored and modified with new tote and knob, but it's far from being a good tool. adjustment's are finicky and it's quite uncomfortable.

But it's hard to justify 400€ on just a plane. unfortunately Woodcraft does not ship in Italy. yesterday I tried with their customer care to place an order but credit card won't collaborate 😂

so it's either the Lie Nielsen on my record 😑

Aren’t there any Stanley’s on eBay? There’s loads available in the uk, not sure if they’d ship to Italy. It is hard to make a cheap plane work well!

Yes plenty! That's where my focus is at right now. I miss restoring planes and every once in a while it's a project that I like to undertake.

But for once I wanted a premium 😁

Looks like I'm going to buy some paint and rust remover 😂😂

I’m torn about this stuff as well. But go for it. Especially If it’s something you’ll‘value’

You deserve nice things. Get it.

are you the devil? stop tempting me

"Massive use" = massive value

nice POV

Good tools are an investment, and "don't get rekt" is as important as NGU.

Buy it!

I'm there with you, but I'm a hobbyist, so it's hard to justify some expenses to even myself
