Nostr Web Client

I will stop using primal as soon as any other more decentralized option isn't a pain in the ass to use.

I was on amethyst for years, which I loved. But it required me to switch lightning wallets at least 5 times (probably more) during that period.

I am currently following more than 2000 people, which seems to break any client without a central cache.

I have tried to use the auto-unfollow web app, which requires a browser extension sign in, which I have not gotten to work yet. Even if it did work, that's just a bandaid. If I want to follow 6000 people I should be able to and I'm willing to pay for relays that support that kind of feed.

None of this is my problem as a user. If it's not simple it's doomed.

Nostr needs to do better or it will centralize and die 🫂

iPhones cannot be jail broken anymore and third party apps are forbidden, which means that if the app store decides something is not allowed then the user is SOL.

There is no lasting solution to this.

That could be a temporary work around, but if Apple wanted to censor browsers they could do that as well.

A majority of the world now accesses the internet through the app store and the play store, which provides two easy bottle necks for control.

Google certainly isn't a good guy, but android phones still provide the ability to boot a different OS and install from the zap store, obtanium, or f-droid.

It's somewhat inconvenient, but I'm doing my best not to stand inside of a fenced in area while the fence is being built.

As much as I appreciate the primal team I understand that this app has trade offs. You can say that again 💯🎯 Primal and Damus are the ones with a consistent user experience from all the clients I have used. Nostur is also catching up, but we definitely need more clients that are just as smooth so that centralization never happens

I have only ever used amethyst and have never changed my lightning address unless i was testing something else. Likeky your issue was with whatever wallet, not amethyst.

As for the follower count, i dont follow that many folks

Curious, why 2000 people? Like, I usually don't want to be follows by people with that high a follow count because I know that the chances they see anything I have to say are slim.
