I always said “crypto” was self defeating, utility coins make no sense, and the mantra of “you need to diversify” meant they lost before even getting started. They were playing with tech in a game of money.
If you sell yourself on “the tech” then you are easily replaced by the “next tech.” So many people would tell me “CaRdAnO iS tHE bItCoiN kiLLeR” and my thought was always, “no it’s the Ethereum killer, and neither are even half a threat to Bitcoin because you are both thinking about this completely backward.”
The more time goes by the more this will show in the markets.
Anyone can build some software that’s fancier than the last guy’s, but no one can just make a more trustworthy money.
Monetary trust is earned over long periods, slow growth, and hard fought battles. The people who thought this was about “diversifying” and “adding as many cool features as possible” were destined to lose before they even started.
