my personal interpretation is that primal and the other "trending feed" clients are the main cause of this

not really much that can be done about it even if it is damaging the variety and onboarding, maybe we should put together some concise and cogent points for nostr:npub16c0nh3dnadzqpm76uctf5hqhe2lny344zsmpm6feee9p5rdxaa9q586nvr and the other "tredning feed" client devs to understand that they are making the curve into a hockey stick?

You think they don't notice? This is their own software project and that's one of the main features.

well i don't like primal, i saw the guys all in their uniforms running around bitcoin atlantis and wasn't the slightest bit interested, their iconography is cheesy and the UI is ugly and the feed is boring

They got caught fiddling with the trending list before.

what is their predominant geographical base? seems like yugoslavian name but not serbian or bosnian vibes

actually, i already know they are croatian, the name is Milan in slovenia, bosnia, serbia, macedonia and bulgaria, the extra J is definitely croatian, though the bosnians are fond of adding them everywhere for no reason, like "mlijeko" haha

America

ugh

america home of the knave?

home of fiat VC ponzi scams

but circular economy growth in Port/land oregon is encouraging/boots on the ground

Primal's VC funding is not a secret.

my dinner has been powered by shitcoin grant funding to date 😅

Hey, respect the hustle. 🤙

bingo!

I fun'd to date.....lfg/

It's the lack of information.

People have to clump together, if you toss them into a void.

And each person that arrives faces a bigger, more attractive clump and assumes there must be some really good reason the others are standing in that clump, so they join them.

This creates a funnel effect that the trendlists magnified, but that discovery algorithms and splitting npubs up more into different use cases (specialized apps) can reduce.
