Liver has more vitamin A than anything. Moreover, many people (especially Northern Europeans) possess a genetic mutation that makes them unable to convert plant-form beta carotene “vitamin A” into TRUE vitamin A—retinol. That means, for them, all the carrots in the WORLD would never be enough for them to meet their vitamin A needs just due to bioavailability reasons. The fact that this list doesn’t include ANY animal foods shows it’s a total gov propaganda lie. Based on the age, it was a war-era lie designed to save the REAL FOOD (the meat) for the troops.

Most of western dietary propaganda was invented for WW2/Korea/Vietnam and then just never switched back. Even newer sources still quote the same studies. Department of defense “health standards” are still based on the same stuff.
