I’ve been wondering about nostr in this regard. At some point pedophile networks will adapt it too, so will all sorts of evil folks. As for users who do not want to see these things, finding relays that are filtered appropriately shouldn’t be a problem. My concern in this regard is who will do the filtering, and is there any way to prevent these evil networks from forming without compromising the decentralized, and free speech nature of nostr.
Very interested in any thoughts about this topic.
We're gonna have the Nostr and the Dark Nostr 😁. Dark Nostr (nazis, pedos, crazies) will have their own relays and stuff.
But seriously i think they prefer their own secret servers and pages and forums, i think Nostr exposes them too much to hunters.
It’s weirdly amusing how people want violence, but don’t want to want it, yet wanting the freedom to want it, assume they don’t want it, when, in fact, they want it even more… the myriads of layers of functional lies in societies is pure mindfuck
It's only natural: we use violence because it's a survival tool our brain can activate in situations which trigger survival instincts.
On the other hand living in tribes which can reach over 1B individuals makes us create tools to temper the violence.
We're naturally inclined to violence as an option: freeze fight flight.
That's good. Someone, somewhere will always choose violence for as long as this species will survive.
