Yeah, its like zapathon.
It was fun, for a bit. I've moved on.
Same here. Started seeing as a marketing stunt to attract listeners. Plus, we were not breaking anything anymore.
I actually am loathe to zap half-hearted introductory notes, as it finally occured to me that someone could just churn those out and collect the money.
Npubs show up, say "Hi, I'm new here!", and then we zap so hard that the profile trends.
And then the profile sometimes goes dormant.
Seems to happen more with girls' PfPs. Because reasons.
Makes me sort of envious, as only my bros zap me, and there's probably some dude in Asia collecting real money with pics of AI-generated mids standing in front of their fake kitchens or hugging their pretend pets. 🙄
You can often tell because they're so perfectly nondescript, unintimidating, and precisely mid.

I haven't seen any zapathon notes, lately, but I probably don't follow anyone in that crowd.
I enjoyed the Zapathons - a bit of fun while they lasted and a demo of the tech/wallets/LNURLS etc. Never were going to last though. I regularly prune my following list with a simple criteria: don’t post anything for 6+ months and I’ll likely unfollow you.
