lol I just realized that an ecash CBDC would be non-custodial.
There would be no other asset backing it 🤯. The data truly *is* the money.
It would have to be backed by something else because it can't itself back cash... Can it?

They can print money, so why print it twice, right? Just issue the ecash as money and that's it.
