It’s still incredible to me that people think that an explicit consensus hard fork failing to get support means Bitcoin got “taken over.”

This would be like if I moved to Colorado, demanded that 5 major laws be changed, and then when only 5% of the population voted for it, I screamed “COLORADO HAS BEEN HIJACKED!”

the plan all along was to scale the chain via increases in blocksize

the project got hijacked and a few devs decided they want to take it in another directions even though 90% of the community wanted to stick to the original plan

they employed massive censorship and only the 1% were allowed to voice their "opinions"

all documented, you are trying to rewrite what happened

This is so objectively nonsensical that this is pointless. There couldn’t be more evidence and obvious technical reasons to show this isn’t remotely true. If you’re latching onto something this painful then there’s no conversation to be had.
