Christ is not “religion” ok?

No, Christ was (maybe) a man. Christianity is the religion based on Christ's teachings. I know Christians with more hate in their hearts than any atheist or agnostic I know. Christ is not the answer. Being kind and respectful of your fellow earthlings (not just humans) is the answer.

No? You’re trolling

I call out hate when I see hate. I call out love when I see love. I call out unkindness when I see unkindness. I call out compassion when I see compassion. We are on the same side, you and me. We both want peace and kindness around the globe but we do not see it happening in the same manner. The man named Christ in the storybook called the Bible is a good and kind and just man. That does not mean that everyone should believe he was magical. That does not mean that just believing in him and his word will solve all problems. That is a very narrow view of this world. Seeing our neighbors with struggles and plights just like we have and helping them in spite of our own troubles, that's what we need. Sharing, caring, compassion, courtesy, and above all love for our fellow creatures, you don't need a character in a book for that.

I cant even finish reading your comment. Jesus is the Christ. The son of God. Nothing magical about that. Its real as ever.

I rather not contend with you. I agree with both want peace around the world. I hope you can respect my beliefs. I respect your opinions.

I never said I didn't respect you. I just don't agree with your views on a religious figure being the solution to religious wars.

I also think it's fun that you respect my opinions but wouldn't read my whole comment. Have a wonderful day, or at least the one you deserve.

Because youre not respectful. I think you know why. Bye

When your day goes wrong now, think of me. Rude.

Following the example Christ set (being willing to die to save those who hate you) is what it means to be Born Again. Most people who claim to be Christian are not born again.

Okay, but in my mind Christ is a religious figure. So you're saying that following the teachings of one specific person who is so deeply interwoven with Christianity as a religion, It's specifically different than a religion. Correct?

I'm sorry if I sound like an idiot. I'm genuinely trying to understand here.

Not trying to argue or anything btw.

Here is a definition I found: religion: the belief in and worship of a superhuman power or powers, especially a God or gods

Religion is the belief in and worship of.

Jesus Christ is that God we believe in and worship.

Does that explain the difference? Hope that helps.

Unfortunately no that really doesn't clear things up but I appreciate it and thank you.
