back on cinnamon now...

seriously what the fuck is wrong with the Gnome project these days?

i still haven't seen a credible explanation for why they even made gnome 4 and totally abandoned support for gnome 3

the gnome 4 window color schemes are dogshit, like, literal fresh dogshit color, you can't change that color at all, the Gradience project just gave up recently as well so there's no tinting at all

i do have the option of using Zorin, which is nice, but it's based on 22 and now i'm using 24 i am firmly of the opinion it's more stable

just why the fuck Gnome project why gnome 4, nobody asked for it, nobody needs it, it adds nothing

XFCE for a lightweight, somewhat customizable environment, and KDE if you want to go crazy with it.

cinnamon is pretty gtk3 tho, i'm pretty much hooked on the adapta/material oceanic color scheme since i started using it back in 2017

also, i hate KDE

windows basically ripped off CDE, which was a rip-off of the original base X window decoration and widget design, and KDE is just CDE

i don't like mac style either, that is part of the reason why i'm quite cheesed off at gnome because they clearly are trying to emulate it, especially the idiotic pied color scheme, like, fucks sake black and white panels on one window is just evil

cinnamon is the one from linux mint? If it is, last time I tried it 2-3 years ago was very very good, the best "full graphical desktop experience" I tried, even better than xfce in every aspect for me.

yeah, probably that one

gtk3 was definitely peak gnome project

I remember nerdraging at GNOME 3 back in 2011. 😂 Switched to XFCE and used that until I went back to Winblows. Going back to Linux soon
