Many solutions exist to host your own media. They're readily available in point and click solutions from Umbrel, StartOS, my node, QNAP, Synology, etc. Why aren't you doing it?
People are either lazy or think it's for "experts"...well even the experts start from knowing nothing.

So an education issue?
For those with the will and intelligence to do it. There will always be some division of labour around that.
I don't think normies are aware of self hosting or how to get started.
We can create account for them in our servers. I'm doing it for family and frens.
