The innovation is the way in which they disguise the permission they deceive you into conceding.
They next major version of the iPhone is gonna return the audio jack. Sales will double on that day.

iPhones are trash
Just from top of my head: on-device AI, way better screens for a bright sunlight, great out-of-the-box connection with the ecosystem. Those SW features are dependent on the invisible HW upgrades. But I'm not a tech guy. And I feel it is quite mature now, so I wouldn't mind less changes and longer lifespan, even though 7 years should be ok. In my family we do 4 years us and then 3+y parents.
