For people who identify or consider themselves workaholics...

Have you ever been called one?

Does it bother you, or do you think it's a bad thing?

And what do you say when that happens?

I have yes. I keep working because I enjoy working with my hands 🤞🏼

i've come close to being a workaholic, or rather, i've had spurts when i felt i *had* to.

Wifey saved me from becoming one.

balance is important. but everyone is built differently.

i would say that as long as it's not hurting loved ones and being done intentionally and passionately and not as a means of escape, then it's okay for brief periods.

I think it’s a good thing if kept under control (we all exaggerated sometimes!)

I was in the past. My father definitely is. Seeing how he neglected other parts of his life (family, health, joy) I realize i need to be extremely careful not to do the same.

Workaholic is definitely a bad thing because it means you are neglecting other aspects of your life. You can work hard and be a hard worker and not be a workaholic

same <\3

I don’t think I’ve ever been called a workaholic. I noticed that it’s only really women that recognize how much I work and how unhealthy it can be for me. But they’re kind enough to not call me that. I don’t think it would upset me because it would technically be true.

women notice <3

I don't think it's unhealthy to be addicted to work if they love it 🤷‍♀️

If they neglect their health, family, and other responsibilities it would definitely be unhealthy

I’m 100% the hardest working person I know. But I also only engage in activities I love doing, I’m autistic / AuDHD so constantlly doing stuff is like also… not work. I do know how to chill too though but I love the sense of building things, accomplishment, etc from working hard. Always for personal gains tho, rather than profit.
