To be fair it is mostly only scammers that use dms. The one I received went straight on the mute list.

Odd. I never thought it was mostly spammers that use DMs. What say you, #nostr ? Mostly spammers use DMS or not?

#asknostr

Well I do get a bit of spam via dm’s, but not too much tbh

Fair enough, I guess it is just disproportionately spam on my side with impostors, hence the off the cuff response

Wow. I have gotten literally two spam DMs, in my year and a half on #nostr . I guess #Damus and #Primal are just that good, and/or I am just that much a nonentity. Whatever it is, I am in bliss on #nostr. My super-specialized, extremely intelligent #plebchain are so willing to help me understand where we’re going and from where we came.

Interesting, I’ve not gotten too much spam in DMs, I mean i do certainly get it, but it doesn’t feel like any more than normal. I got boatloads on Twitter so maybe I’m just desensitized to it, lol.

I definitely get a lot of legit DMs though.

Nah, maybe you’re not a good mark to be fair (well known and skeptical). They see a pleb like myself and maybe just roll the dice. Wonder how many hits they get from the fake Saylor “Hi there Rydal 👋” DMs

I just send a zap invoice for my attention

I still want a zap to DM filter for people who I don’t follow. All DMs go to spam unless sats attached. No joke, I get about 10 texts a day from medical healthcare staffing companies. In fact.. I got one as I was typing this note. Nostr and Bitcoin could fix unsolicited spam like this.

A note's 'momentum' should be proportional to its Satoshi 'mass'.

We are in the zero momentum era of the nostr protocol.
