In Canada, this is also the same reason many, wrongly in my opinion, put all of their money into their houses. I would rather have mine in bitcoin, stop pretending to be a financial advisor, and live out of a chuckwagon.

People do this in the states, too. It's kind of like forced savings for people with poor impulse control and bad financial planning skills.

Yes, and I guess for these types of people a house is better than nothing.

Yep that is why they are investing so much money into their property.

I mean. My home did appreciate like 2.25x over 7yrs & I needed a place for my family to live anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️

That is true.

Homes are still turning quick in my area in less than a couple weeks, A+ school district. But I'd still need a place to live & raise my kids.

So I'm stuck for another decade+.

And that's my point. Houses are a place to live and you'll always need one of those. So even if you sell, you'll either have to move to a different area with lower cost to see profit or buy another house in that same elevated market.
