What if?
😉
RCS was pretty bad many years ago, but since it rolled out widely, I haven't had any issues in several years. I hate texting with Apple users. I need my RCS.
If you feel bold to trust a private intentionally closed-source company with your Apple credentials so that you can access iMessage on Android: https://www.sunbirdapp.com
If you want to believe it and inb4 Apple lawsuit:
“The Sunbird servers do not store user data promoting a safe, secure, and private messaging environment. With end-to-end encrypted, confidential messaging, Sunbird is fully secure and completely private.”
Just use Signal.
This. But also, network effects are real. So people need to put in the work to convince their network to switch to Signal.
Exactly. Sometimes you really have to drag the horse to the trough.
I've been using Signal with my family for many years. It's our standard app.
One of the only things I don’t like about Signal is that my linked computer loses access randomly every so often, and messages don’t sync over from my phone. Maybe it’s a security thing, but I don’t understand it.
Hmm. I don't have these issues. Mine syncs just fine.
For example, I last opened Signal on my Mac in October. I didn’t open it again until a month later and it told me it was unlinked and that I needed to relink it through my phone. Messages that came through within that month gap don’t appear on desktop. 🤷🏻♂️
Just kidding. They store everything in plaintext, contrary to their claims. Don’t do it.

Agreed, but Tim Cook basically told people to go buy iPhones to interact in a modern way with iPhone owners, so that's another reason to just say No to Apple.
Better solution, annoy the shit out of people who text you with an iPhone that you can't see their text messages (even when you can, they aren't tech savvy enough to know when you're lying anyway)
