If it’s true that Jon Stewart was dropped by Apple for his China+AI takes (Apple reportedly wanted Jon to be more “aligned” with their view due to their Chinese economic overlords), I wonder what his next path is.

Retire with his “fuck you” money and maybe do a couple independent projects for fun? Or do a more independent/decentralized show?

I grew up watching Jon’s Daily Show. I don’t agree with all his past or present takes, but I always found him to be the best political jester- the one who could bring complex serious topics to a younger audience with humor. And right or wrong, speaking from his heart and logic rather than fully advertiser-captured or audience-captured.

Curious to see what he does next.

True, though I think this was mostly because the DNC saw Ron Paul as un-electable so left leaning media were pushing him much like they did with Trump in the primaries for 2016.

I remember MSNBC and CNN ignored Ron Paul often so I do not think that was the case. CNN even smeared him on primetime for an hour segment the day before the primary saying he was racist because some newsletter under Paul name had some things written even though no one could verify who the author of the article was. Both sides feared him. Both parties are controlled by the same people who had a lot to lose under a Ron Paul presidency so #honestmistake became a meme back then for us Ron Paul supporters.

I’m old and have paid attention- and I can verify that much of our history has been rewritten. I’ve even been present at historical events and then watched as they were rewritten in the months & years to follow.

Back then, I had the impression that he did not respect his audience. The „I say something in a funny way and then show clips of people who I disagree with using the same sentences to make them look stupid and unimaginative“ thing was annoying.

But it‘s sad that he get‘s canceled.
