The scarcity of gold is about to change. #Bitcoin.

Really, it's a race to develop space mining tech, the cost to orbit is already becoming feasible.

Curious if the same logic applies to bitcoin mining……. No atmosphere, double the effectiveness of solar panels, potential to mine in space as more productive endeavour than on earth?

It doesn't apply due to bitcoin's difficulty adjustment. Bitcoin has a target rate of inflation. More miners and cheaper energy does not increase bitcoin's issuance over the long term.

Solar or nuclear powered

#Bitcoin miners in space could:

*be used to heat, water & environment in space station.

*heat generation harnessed to create propellant

or even more, what happens when the cost of energy is zero? at what point is btc mining commoditized?

Solar panels would have to get 100-1000x better before that begins to make sense

That would just increase the difficulty adjustment, no?

i tried to get a sense of timeline from the articles, u think there will be a financial impact to gold in the next 10 years? Seems like it will take a LONG time for this to trickle down...although perhaps the herd will get scared by the potential long before it becomes reality.

When/if asteroid mining becomes a real thing, we’re all going to be swimming in so much material wealth, I doubt the goldbugs will be too hard up.

That’s a cool chart 👍
