Arguing that stealing from people through inflation will make them work harder is like arguing that if you purposefully make someone sicker they will do more to be healthy.
Fiat money is literally a scam and they don’t even hide it.

Similar line of thinking as the idiotic broken window fallacy
Genuinely the exact same logic actually. Sometimes its baffling how insanely stupid it is, yet how many (even intelligent) people ascribe to it.
Yup, people can somewhat imagine the situation on the margin (what is seen). Ie, what would I do if bread costs 2% less -> I might save 2% less or work 2% less. And think that the modest inflation is the nice nudge stopping them from being too lazy.
But they aren't able to extrapolate few rounds of the game further (unseen). Ie - I might afford to send kids to better school/retire my wife/get healthier/all my neighbors could afford it together with me/...
And entirely unseen is the idea that the natural price deflation could easily be -5℅ or 10% just thanks to the productivity gains.
I believe big food and big pharma work hand in hand on your second suggestion. It sounds outrageous but here is a pill to lose weight regardless of how much you eat, because obesity is a sickness.
and both groups bribe the AMA to make sure trusted family doctors don't pass along real health advice
If you step back a little bit the picture which emerges is clear: your work is being stolen from you in multiple ways, most of which you never even knew about until recently. ...some of which you're still blind too. The whole system is one big scam designed to milk you of your energy.
Tune in. Turn on. #Opt_out. (oh! and feed the goats!)
