I love this. And have considered it. My grandfather did this for years. Unfortunately I no longer have him for a resource. How much of the stumps and roots etc do you need to removed before seeding grass?
Go do it. Zero. The cows just walk around them (I have other land without stumps for winter feed production)
Get sheep and hogs prior to cutting down the trees to bootstrap too!
Also, if you have kids, make them burn the brush and make it into biochar to either sell or add to your pastures!
Buying land, instead of real estate, would be nice.
