I knew I didn’t have to worry about if I used any trigger words that would possibly get me shadowbanned. Like Bitcoin.
I did shrooms.
I kept feeling like I had to do it. Like I was resisting the inevitable. Like i was gonna be left behind.
So I got up from my bath and went to nostr.

No algorithms and not having to worry about being banned for “wrong-think”
It hit me immediately, when I first got in: Nostr is a restoration of what the internet was always meant to be.
Then the zaps came, which took it to a whole other level.
This is very very big. Just as they were progressively tightening the restraints on our ability to interact freely on the internet, with Nostr we have slipped out from their grasp. As this catches on, freedom will ensue and embolden more to free the others.
Nostr It’s more than a social network... it’s a protocol.
When I was able to directly and instantly zap/support the content creator, the artist, and the dev…..no middle man with a cut. I know the original intent of the donation/zap/support was received and appreciated. Powerful for both sides…

Never played with this kind of freedom before….
Followed #[2] here from Twitter. Felt like the 90s internet with a Bitcoin ethos.
I know how big of an idea bitcoin is and that if the power to freely communicate were impacted, that could be a problem if we ever faced a coordinated attack. I was worried knowing that Twitter could easily shut us down. And out of the space arose a censorship resistant, decentralized protocol to protect freedom of speech. Amazing.
The EU will likely ban us Europeans from Twitter and a decentralized social media is better to build upon long term. As an artist and creator I have better control over my work here at Nostr.
Since I publish my art under pseudonym, I naturally can't show an ID to prove my identity if Twitter demands that; I can only show proof-of-work to prove that I made my art, which in a free market should be enough.
I don't want corrupt central regulators to make decisions regarding my liberties. That said, I still enjoy Twitter since it has better reach and lots of interesting people.
That will of course never happen.
Even if they tried to ban People from Twitter, it would collapse the EU, it's a weak sign of paranoia, the endstages of a totalitarian regime.
Same with the chatcontrol it's all just talk and the clean up in the eu has already begun.

Don't fall for the fear mongering
It certainly can happen, and while VPN's can ameliorate the impact on individuals, an EU censorship hammer would drastically reduce the communication reach between Europeans. Most people don't use VPN's.
We are already seeing laws in the EU where private property rights are undermined. The correct response is staying vigilant and that has nothing to do with fear.
Many totalitarian regimes lasted a lot longer than the EU and ended up doing much worse thing in the process. The EU will collapse one day, but it can do plenty of damage in the meantime. Luckily, they're still not building walls and stopping people from leaving, although that may happen as well eventually.
It's not going to happen in the EU.
Maybe in a undereducated country like the US or a backwards developed country like russia in the past you can achieve such consensus in the public but not in the modern day EU.
It's just not going to happen and this Marburg Scam rolled out by the WHO hedgefund is the cherry on the cake which bring the entire scam project to a halt.
People are not retarded and they overplayed their hand with the covid plandemic and the experimental modRNA bioweapons.
The people in europe are done with this, there is maybe a small minority of hardcore communists left which support that way of governance but the majority is done and won't play that game again.
Honestly the only people which blindly support such censorship are the academics and students, working class is strictly against it just not aware enough but there are plenty of fresh new alternative media channels which do a great job in educating the public about future treats.
I think you're very generous to the average European. All I see is endless masses primed to fall for the next "current thing", whatever that may be. They ate up the pandemic censorship (and actively supported it in many cases), called the police on people hiking in the woods alone, snitched on their fellow man and now they obsess with the destruction of the biggest nuclear power on the planet, regardless of the consequences.
In a nutshell, I wouldn't extend them a lot of credit at this point.

And about the russian agression in ukraine, if you are still psyop'd and think they have the best in your mind I can't help you anyways.

No need to insult. There are no good guys in power looking out for the little guy, no matter the country. So our job is to build the tools we need to stay free. The EU will do whatever it's allowed to get away with, and people have been allowing it to get away with a lot lately.

Censorship is about wars of perception. Perception is the code we run within our minds. This code needs to be free and sovereign, oriented toward evaluating the world around us based on the proof-of-work that our senses and logic can provide us.
This process of perception must be free and voluntary and can't be allowed to be centrally controlled, for a variety of reasons.
The point of censorship is preventing individuals from communicating particular information with others; to prevent certain changes in perception.
Governments are naturally motived to control how public opinion forms, in order to preserve their power. It is perception that fundamentally backs government power. A loss of favorable perception then is the greatest threat to any established power.
Social media bans are a spectrum, from shadowbanning to full banning. The point is the result; reducing the reach of certain opinions, be it openly or more hidden, to prevent certain changes in perception among a population.
Took a look on December just in case, then i got banned from IG 2 days ago for sharing Bitcoin memes.

A lot of aha moments:
Public/private keys teach crowds about cryptography.
Zapping proves that bitcoin is the best medium of exchange in addition to store of value.
Not to mention the infeasibility of Chinese effort to ban #nostr; uncensorable as it is a protocol just like #bitcoin.
All paths lead us to #hyperbitcoinization.
