āhonest people donāt have to remember the detailsā
that quote stuck with me years ago. itās so much more freeing when you donāt have worry about keeping your stories straight or worry about what details youāve shared with who, etc

I take this to the extreme; my 4yo has known that there is no Santa since she was born, that I, her mom and her will die, and any lie people usually tell kids we tell her the truth
That is a good approach. We try to do a similar, although not complete purists, yet. My kids were asking about sex stuff recently and had to just be honest, despite the uncomfortable š„“ š
Have you discovered the site https://www.takingchildrenseriously.com/ ? Good insights that have been helpful to me to lean in toward this approach.
this is how i was raised, and itās something i still thank my mom for
Santa is Fiat

I thought about going this path, but then I realized the world is full of lies and itās better that I teach them about lying. So I dress up as Santa and do a really over exaggerated impression lol š Iām basically spelling it out right in front of them and simultaneously encouraging them to figure out the grift.
Iāve been lied to my who life. School parents teachers. Lsd and mushrooms changed that.
