Where's a good place to hide your seed words if the place where you live is regularly visited by strangers you don't personally know or trust? #asknostr

Na mente
It can be a good temporary solution, but dangerous. An accident can happen at any time or a disease and you can lose your memory.
You could split the seed up and hide in multiple spots. Even if one is stumbled upon they would still need the other pieces. You would only need to remember the order.
Probably the safest method. + you can encrypt the words in other letters, numbers or symbols so if someone see it he can't remember easily the words because they looks like random letters
Even one wrong letter, one or two words missing could add an extra layer of protection.
Changing to a new wallet/key when in a better situation would be good too. Also of course a passphrase.
Border wallets (probably best for a temporary wallet and or if needed in a transportation pinch). Paper wallets. You can code your key in a similar way that Benjamin Franklin used code etc. Blockstream has a cool cryptography book that can help.
As btc sessions, not over complicating things for yourself I think is wise too.
Never. Split. Up. The. Mnemonic.
Passphrase or multisig instead.
You just have to spend 2 of your BTC to build your own bunker
What if my country enter in war and my bunker is requisitioned for civilians or a military shelter 🤔
Thats a good objection....maybe na mente is less dangerous....or multisig, that is definitely more rational...because digging a long tunnel in Tibet, Nepal or out of any militar jurisdiction is a bit expensive
Talking seriously, your question is a really good question that all good bitcoiner should try to answer ...
Border wallet instead.
Primarily, the project is aimed at people who:
have difficulty/concerns with securely caching physical seed backups (evil maid attack)
want to memorise their seed words but struggle to do so
want to carry their seed words with them at all times
have limited access to trusted 3rd parties
live in areas of conflict, war zones, etc.
regularly travel or move around
have no permanent fixed abode.
In practice, though, it can be used by anybody who wants to more easily and more reliably commit their Bitcoin seed words to memory.
