Would Bitcoin have caught on if 2008 never happened?
Discussion
Good question. The timing was spot on.
🤔
Would
In case you mean no bailout, yes, I'm pretty sure it still would have.
In case this is a trick literal question, no, the flow of time ending at 2008 would not have made Bitcoin catch on.
it would have been created all the same, and would have caught on, 2008 is just another fiat crisis, that happened just a few month before Bitcoin
Personally, I don’t think so. I also don’t think most people agreed inflation was bad until Covid.
Yes
Thought provoking.
2008 not happening has even wider implications for sure, though perhaps none as consequential.
Basically, the question is how impoetant was the class of 2010.
Personally, I don't think we should disrespect those billionaires. 🙄
Eventually Bitcoin will be invented
Gradually then suddenly.
Central banking boom bust cycles would've happened some other time, if not in 2008.
2008 was and is inevitable.
I doubt it. In fact, I still think the best strategy for the U.S. government to obsolete Bitcoin - at least in terms of mass global adoption - would be to demonstrate they are capable and convicted to maintaining a reasonably minimal rate of monetary base inflation from now on. Good thing for us Bitcoin enthusiasts that they just can't help themselves.
Has it caught on, though? I hope it will
Eventually the coin would've been invented.
Yep! For many it still hasn’t caught on. Get some and find out!
