It’s been one month since I last enjoyed a glass of wine. I’ve never been a big drinker, but I do enjoy Bordeaux on the weekends.

I feel great! Skin is not as dry and ashy 😬, sleeping better. I will try to go six months.

To anyone that’s cut out alcohol completely, what can I look forward to?

It’s great. I need to get back on that train - I had a good ~5 month run but have returned to some old habits recently.

Extended periods of sobriety are incredible for your health, both physical and mental.

Wow, 5 months! How did you manage social situations when you weren’t drinking?

To be honest, it was during a winter ago when I lived at home and was being a bit anti-social anyway lol🤣

I still don’t have the healthiest relationship with alcohol, but here are a few tips which helped during that period

1. Avoid social situations where alcohol is the main activity

2. Remember that drunk people can’t actually tell how much you’ve drank, or often even care to know. You can always get non-alcoholic drinks to hold onto and no one will be the wiser

3. Get a good set of fun hobbies to share with friends which don’t revolve around alcohol

4. Wake up early (closer to sunrise) in order to plan your day around daylight hours. Activities which center around alcohol are usually after dark, and your body will naturally want to avoid those more if you’ve woken up early

5. Treat it as a personal goal (similar to stacking sats) and make sure you and those around you respect that goal. If people are disrespectful of your decision to try and better yourself, they are not your friends

These are great tips!

I actually started a new hobby not too long ago: Judo / self-defence.

To my surprise, there are other mothers in the class. They seem just as motivated.

Not completely away from alcohol. But, super occasional… Looking young seems to be one of the advantages. A lot of people ask to know my secret…

Now, if they could stop asking for my ID in those rare occasions I do want to drink…

I’d love to get ID’d again 😂

#[0] I took Jan, feb, and most of March off - had a couple drinks one day in March and haven’t drank sense. I just feel better overall when not drinking

MORE REASONS TO STACK SATS

You look beautiful 😍 I quit alcohol years ago and i feel greater of course and in a good shape but i thinks for a beautiful occasion i may would drink one glass of fine wine but no more🍷😌🙏🍀

Congratulations!

Do you ever miss it?

Congrats on the achievement! 👏🏼 I‘m currently trying out intermittent fasting, and that‘s psychologically quite a stretch for me. Don‘t think I could ever give up on something like wine or coffee, but I admire those who have the mental strength to do so 🤩

TY 🙏

What drew you to intermittent fasting? Are you noticing any benefits?

Not yet, but I‘ve only just started tbh. The idea to try it out came from the realization how the body works & digests food / burns calories. I‘m really looking forward to whether I can keep it up for a prolonged period of time & what the tangible effects will be. Will keep you posted 🫂

I am more into cutting water, it's an oxidant, wine is an antioxidant.
