I finally got around to doing something at the studio I’ve been thinking about for a long time now!

πŸͺ· lilypad dessert plates πŸͺ·

The frogs are speckled clay while the leaves are white clay. Even with the same translucent green glaze on both, there should be some interesting contrast.

I’m so excited to combine different clays, sculpture, and functional ware!

this would be a perfect plate for a dessert featuring boba 青蛙下蛋 hahaha

Are those used in anything but drinks? I didn’t know if so!

i think I've seen it with shaved ice but probably wouldn't do too well on a plate πŸ˜†

Especially not one with an intentional crack in it 🀣 they’re really only meant for cake, pie, cookies, bonbons, etc.

Nothing flowing

I found this a little while ago. I might start adding little figures to my pots.

Loving the matte turquoise with speckly clay. It’s actually been surprisingly hard for me to intuit what glazes will look good on it so I’ve been pretty restrained. Might try something like that.

Come to think of it, I did kinda like aqua celadon, similar hue…

looks awesome! putting some kind of sculpture on plates is always interesting...
