https://bookmarks.relays.land/ is now operational. You can republish any note to wss://bookmarks.relays.land/ and it will be saved in a special place tied to your account.

But for technical reasons I can't create a special place for every person, so they're limited to 500 for now and you have to pay 5000 satoshis for anti-sybil reasons. If you like the idea and wants to use it but doesn't want to pay 5000 satoshis please message me on NIP-17.

https://jumble.social/ has the "republish to" feature today, and I heard https://yakihonne.com/, https://nostur.com/ and https://nosotros.dev/ are working on it. Any other client?

Looks great! I'll have to try it.

Define ‘special’ please in this context 🤓

I don't know how to define "special" in any other context either.

I already have 351 saved / bookmarked notes / events in Nostur:

That's amazing. I've been thinking over the last few weeks about a good solution to bookmark all the valuable stuff I discover. This is going to be the perfect backbone. On top of that, I guess I'm going to use hashtags like #apps #bitchat so I can categorize the bookmarks. All I need to build is a frontend that displays the content based on that, the way I want. I also tried to achieve that with specific zap amounts - let's say I want to bookmark something as an app, then I zap 5 sats; if I want to bookmark an article, then 6 sats, etc. - but it didn't work. Indexing based on that seems too slow, but I only tried to vibe code it ao far 😅

If I understood it right then I agree it could be a good backbone for your thing. Let me know if there are any features I should add.

You can just privately (or publicly) label stuff and have all your labels saved on your general personal relay.

What's the benefit of having a different relay for every action / content type like this?

That's literally what we have events for no?

Labels are extra exciting to me, because with #communikeys I can target Labels at Communities.

Reposting to a specific group, with a tag.

Been needing that for over a decade.

Do I understand correct this doesn’t use nip-51 bookmarks right? so I can just republish any post here and the relay does magic to show only what I published there?

Yes, it has no relationship with NIP-51 whatsoever, it's just a relay that stores notes.

Well, that immediately solved a months long pain point I've been experiencing. 😅

Wow so this might be something I could use in a project I started last night.

What is the project about?

Password manager using encrypted kind 30078 notes. Seems like it could be a way to migrate to a new relay or provide some backup solution. Like I said, just started last night and it’s my way of learning the ins and outs of the protocol, but it gets my thoughts flowing.

The idea is very unclear. Any examples? Any NIPs?

Nice, i was looking for something like that. #Amethyst is missing such a feature. cc: nostr:nprofile1qqsyvrp9u6p0mfur9dfdru3d853tx9mdjuhkphxuxgfwmryja7zsvhqpzamhxue69uhhv6t5daezumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcpz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj7qgswaehxw309ahx7um5wghx6mmd9u2mk7fe

You can add it to the broadcast relays section of Amethyst and then all new posts (and rebroadcasts) will go there too.

Thanks you. Yes, but I need to rebroadcast I just want to "silently" bookmark them

Hum... Maybe a Bookmarking Relay section? 🤔

Yeah that might make sense. Bookmark is perhaps the wrong word. It's more about persisting notes. But of course they could also be integrated in the “bookmarks” section.

What's the difference between a private inbox (where you use to save app settings, drafts, etc) and the bookmark relay? Aren t they the same?

As I understand it, it's nothing special, but I'm not the author.

I guess saved bookmarks don't need to be private for just you...
