First a french press, then whole beans and a grinder...

Coffee is an expensive rabbit hole.

Worth it ๐Ÿ˜‹ plus way less expensive this way than going to Starbucks

Agreed ๐Ÿ˜

And the coffee tastes better too.

So much so! I love the process myself

Yes Fren it can be but it's delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹

Don't forget the milk frother :-)

So you don't toast it yourself!? FML

Chemex is the way to go!

You've got everything you need right there if you're happy with what you're brewing. ๐Ÿ˜Š

i just got a nescafe dulce gusto today... my espresso is as good or equal to what i pay more for at the local cafes with their 1kEUR+ machines

just need the baby "bica" cups to go with it now

the best coffee is a shot, in a heated small ceramic cup, sipped slowly, everything else is extravagance and decadence ๐Ÿ˜€

yeah i think what makes it better is the good quality coffee... the two main brands you see here in #madeira for coffee are Delta and Sical, and there was another one... Torrie - these are the three you see most often in the numerous cafes dotted around the island

best coffee i have ever enjoyed has always been Lavazza Oro and this Buondi stuff i got to start with for my machine is pretty much high quality also, i'll have to search around for options

Coffee is my work so I'm biased. ๐Ÿ˜Š

well, i just wannan bica and that's that (the madeiran word for an espresso shot)

everything else you get at cafes here includes UHT milk, which is an abomination

I think so. The beans and grinder are in the mail, but I like the coffee I've been making so far. It's just that my grounds have gotten stale or something over time, so I decided to buy whole beans from now on.

๐Ÿ’ฏ whole bean is the way to go. Don't put them in a freezer or fridge. You'll read that a lot of places, it's bad advice. Cool, dark, and dry storage.

Thanks. Will do ๐Ÿ‘

The only downside is that it requires mental clarity to produce such magic first thing in the morning. I can't tell you how many times I've left water steeping in the press without coffee grounds lol

Haha, that can definitely be a downside ๐Ÿ˜…

For those days, I'd probably just make tea. It's more forgiving.

If you would like to save a bundle on the best coffee, I can help you out.๐Ÿ€โ˜•๏ธ

Thanks, but I just bought a bunch.

Grab a LiveGood membership and try out the best in the world! This stuff is all I'll drink anymore. All organic. ๐Ÿคฉ

Take a look...you might like it. It has awesome mushrooms in it too! https://bit.ly/CoffeeLG

And the prices!๐Ÿ˜ฒ

I bought a $2000 handmade Italian espresso machine last year ๐Ÿ˜‚ but I hit payback many months ago so whatev โ˜•๏ธ worth it to me.

i use a french press & grind the beans

or i get coldbrew from my grocery store

either in the french press at home or at the store it is the same beans

jim's organic coffee

sweet love blend

Nice, I got more of the nostr:npub1a6zkqnuwcmjwynuw4u4xyngy9675x8dwgj87z9me4h8mdwmc2a0q8mvhjk that I already had, but as whole beans.

source my water/city water sux here

It isn't if you don't drink it. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I didn't for my whole life and one random shift in my taste buds later, I've fallen into the trap. I'm a #coffeechain bro now ๐Ÿ˜ญ

I'm so very so to hear that. I will remain on the #teachain.

Good journey, bro!

I can at least assure you that my tea game will remain strong ๐Ÿ’ช

That's reassuring!

french press soooooooo good

Next step is to roast your own. Itโ€™s fun and doesnโ€™t have to be a big production.

I was thinking about it, that if I ever do I'd just stick some raw beans in the oven and call it a day.

I've heard it smells amazing.

A frying pan with constant stirring.
