It really only serves one purpose and that's to signal to recruiters that you're looking for work.
I don't know of any alternative. Just about any other venue requires the job seeker to be the one on the hunt. Linkdn is the passive way to job search.
Yeah, besides being a kind of job board it also has this passive function. Probably why I haven’t deleted it yet. But I really dislike the rest of it. Getting more and more toxic, riddled with egos. I’d love to see them remove the social media aspect of it all. Pure job advert and apply board. No opinions. No social network. No algorithms, no bots.
