how can somebody keep breathing while having their energy levels this low ? and how can somebody want to create anything without dopamine in their brain ? i honestly do not understand.

I like to surprise with my trash taste in music

much better hehe

i decided to feature this track in my "pure dementia in music form" collection on my site:

https://dissidentsound.discoursehosting.net/t/full-on-dementia-in-music-form/501

here is something in between:

Recue - Tensegrity

i didn't say it was shit by the way, just completely devoid of energy.

Nice tunes! I can actually relate to that description for "devoid of energy". For me the shoegaze/ambient and doom/sludge metal realms are two sides of the same coin. Slow and pensive - one creates atmospheres of floating in space with glassy tones and delays while the other creates thick and oppressive atmospheres that actually feel like treading in sludge through slow, low rhythmic chugging. Rather than hype me up, I get more trance like emotions - the latter which actually feeling needing to build up strength to push forward through sludge despite the oppressive atmosphere. Its fun 😁

gave your music a 2nd listen - it's not bad at all - i would just need a near fatal dose of heroin to listen to it. i don't do heroin though.

anyway came up with some tunes for you:

i was first exposed to Doom through "Restless Oblivion" by Anathema all the way back in the 90s as a kid in Kiev:

i couldn't get into any of their other stuff, but got into "Paradise Lost" instead, big time:

which probably isn't Doom by your standards, but that's as close as i got ...

actually it was a software engineer who tried to get me to listen to Doom at the time ( i was 14 and listening to Death Metal then )

apparently there is a link between Doom and software engineering i wasn't aware of ...

anyway, eventually i transitioned away from metal-based music forms and towards electronic sound ...

If this is doom, then I'm not sure if I'm calling it right, but they're just labels to me - just something that approximates a sound.

Two bands that I use are more "post metal" but the vibes of these songs seem more doomy and sludgy.

But in general, I'm just a fan of musicianship. My steps into heaviness come and go, but the appreciation of musicianship always stays the same.

Only until recently have I started appreciating electronic music.

this "Gnosis" stuff, immediately reminded me of "When a Champion Falls" by Animadrop.

and not in a good way LOL. they both have this quality of simultaneously being too serious while also not original enough.

objectively there is nothing wrong with them, but they just kind of lack authenticity that i like to see in music.

basically they start out with the goal of impressing the listener and this is wrong. you have to start out with something unique and then do enough to make sure it is "finished" but not "belabored" ...

basically it should sound natural and effortless and it doesn't. it sounds painstakingly orchestrated. in case of Animadrop he isn't even trying to hide it by showing how he composed it in the computer.

i will try to think of an example of this done better, but i can't think of one right now.

couldn't think of any examples of it done right but here is another example of it done wrong:

Seven Lions feat. So Below - Every Time (Official Music Video)

https://youtu.be/0u-wOk8kCVk?si=7V2SzKzsYA0061T-

it's like they missed the memo that life is a joke and made a music video more serious than life itself.

aside from that, it's good.

Ok, this is an example of it being done right:
