The growing popularity of drive-thru shopping and online order/pickup/delivery brings back memories of the dry goods stores from old west films, or the small, general stores in Appalachian mining towns (one of which I actually got to visit as a kid) in which most of the merchandise was kept behind the counter and had to be retrieved by an employee. Kind of like a modern day auto parts store but without the light bulb, wiper blade and filter aisles. lol
