What happens if you multi-sig with Nunchuck and one day nunchuck stops functioning #asknostr

I guess so long if you have keys you can still move funds.

Yea, i never set a multi-sig but from what i've read you can use other wallets if you have the keys

Keys and the wallet configuration which you can export and which I believe it prompts you to export when you set your wallet up.

Without both, you're gonna have a bad time.

With both, you can use other software/devices to recover.

Don’t wait to find out, build a nostr:npub17tyke9lkgxd98ruyeul6wt3pj3s9uxzgp9hxu5tsenjmweue6sqq4y3mgl

Also you need more than just the three keys

The number of keys doesn't matter. You would have the seeds for every associated key, and would therefore be able to easily import into another wallet.

What about wallet configuration details or derivation paths? What if you lose one of the keys?

Derivation paths can be inferred from the key seeds, and you can manually rebuild the rest. But if you can keep track of your wallet seeds you should be able to keep track of your BSMS (wallet config) files.

🤢

The multi-sig wallet is dependent on Nunchuk. You would have the seeds for every signing key, and so you could easily import them into a different wallet.

*isn't dependant

So basically if nunchuck went down for whatever reason I could still access funds and sign transactions to let’s say sparrow?

Yes, absolutely. It's entirely based on BIP standards, and you can import your seeds into any other wallet, and reconstruct the multi-sig.

Awesome thanks

I’ve been using it for a bit now since you’ve been talking about it but this was my concern or rather curiosity of it all.

Nunchuk is built on open standards. Any wallet created in Nunchuk can be recovered elsewhere using standards-compatible software such as Sparrow.

I wonder what the thebitcoinway says about this
