Recently I started experiencing intense anxiety: tightness in my chest, shortness of breath, racing thoughts, and waking up in the middle of the night unable to fall back asleep.

These symptoms were unusual for me, especially since I regularly use tools like meditation, yoga, pranayama, mindfulness, and spending time in nature to stay grounded.

Even with all these practices, the anxiety persisted.

So three days ago, I decided to make a simple change. I deleted Instagram and reduced all screen time at least two hours before bed. Almost immediately, I began to feel better.

Today I finally woke up without anxiety and with a sense of relief in my chest.

It’s wild how much social media, especially something like Instagram, can affect our nervous system. And I wasn’t even a heavy user. I can only imagine the impact it has on someone who’s on it all day.

I found this to be the same for me a couple of years ago, constant comparison and awareness of problems outside to your own life which you have no control over is simply too much to deal with. At least for me. Nostr keeps me a bit more grounded at least without losing total social touch

I left my phone in an uber accidentally when being dropped off at an airport 3 days ago. I noticed my phone gone within a minute but couldn’t get a hold of the driver right away. My trip was only 3 days so I decided to continue on with my trip. He was able to return my phone to my house the next day, but I got to spend 3 days with no phone. I texted people back on my laptop twice a day and had an incredible time overall.

I feel I have a pretty good relationship with my phone in general, but I was able to be more present with the people I was spending time with.

Now that I have my phone back, I will be mindful of the experience I just had and remember the joy of life comes from experiencing it in person, and that most of the things I pay attention to on my phone are not urgent whatsoever.

And like nostr:nprofile1qqsqr8mlhu5f35w8xfyzdjtxv6jp6n3f8zqcjvee0z429nxcrs3jmzcpzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgqgjwaehxw309ac82unsd3jhqct89ejhxwa8wnc , my sleep improved in a noticeable way.

I hope you’ve all been doing well.

Yes I am always trying to find the balance, I have spent months with instagram deleted on my phone but would eventually download it again because I liked the recipe and health content. Hoping that #nostr can be a fix for that, where I can find recipe and health content on here without the addicting algorithms!

Yes, I hope the same thing ✨
