Primal needs a “remove follower” button like IG.

Can’t you just mute them?
I don’t want them following me 😂
Ah I get it now. 🤔
Exactly lol
Not a programmer but I don’t see why that can’t be added to nostr
To do something like this. You would need to be able to grant access to follow and be able to revoke access to follow. I can imagine two methods. 1) A kind of encrypted message where only those with the rotating “secret” can read the post. And only send to those you want to send the rotating secret. It would either need to be a single secret for all, or a unique secret for each npub. The groups spec wrestles with these dynamics. But you could create a private group for yourself and grant/revoke to the group. 2) Set up a relay, post only to that relay and whitelist the npubs you want to be able to read notes from that relay with a list you maintain. I recommend this approach. It can be implemented right now, unilaterally, and will work with all clients and message kinds. It doesn’t require any client or devs to do anything you can control this right now. A third option would be to just change your relays or use paid relays. If you share a relay with a harraser or a spam bot. Then you will see their notes and they will see yours. If you don’t have relays in common then they won’t. So using private relays will cut down on spam and perhaps harassers. Each relay is like a private club. You post notes and read notes at the relays pleasure. You can post to and read from many relays. You only have full control if you run your own relay. This is my understanding.
I like how she's got us all sweating a little wondering if she's referring to us... 👀😅
😂😂😂 I’m sure they know who they are lol
The only thing you can do is mute. The Nostr protocol doesn’t have a block function. Anyone can follow any user they want.
You can't sign an event on behalf of someone else, and the list of people you follow is an event like any other on nostr.
Anyone can add your public key to that list and sign it with their secret key, and there's nothing anyone can do to remove it. They'll see your notes because they're available to everyone.
What is possible is running a private relay that you post your notes to and only allowing certain people to access it. If you're notes aren't publicly accessible, you're more in control of who sees them. This is what I believe nostr.wine does with Creatr, which is like Patreon for Nostr.
Well that is completely out of my wheelhouse 😂😂 I will begrudgingly accept it and hope they become bored of me.
Haha, the best way to lose people is to just be yourself.
But if someone you dislike follows you and zaps your notes, now that you can't kick them to the curb, you instead get to grapple with the opportunity of finding common ground.
Oh yeah I have no issue with those people. Even if I don’t like/agree with their stuff (unless it’s extreme). Just the men who have tried to make their move and did so in horrendous ways 🥲
All content on NOSTR is public. Even if Primal would build that anyone can see and follow your content with other apps/clients.
I know ☹️
Also on Nostr you can enter in any client using the npib of anyone, and you will see the feed and everything like you are that npub (of course you can't sign an event without the nsec), so basically there is no way IMO to avoid someone from seeing your notes..
Yeah I can totally see that!
IMO there's not much technical tools that can prevent the problem, and mute/block can just help with many limit.
It's the environment, so the users creating it, that organically should prevent idiotic language and idea to harm/spread or be celebrated.
Of course something like that would be long and hard to be obtained and in order tu succeed, people should constantly point out what they think.
In the end, even in closed protocols or platform where there is censorship or an account can be banned.. the same person can open a new one with another email in no time and start again to harass/spread shit or whatever stupid behaviour it was.
In an environment where when you spread negativity/stupidity it doesn't create more engagement (like often on other platforms), or it receives as response comments from other users that outline its stupidity, maybe those kind of people will mute themselves.. or will be mute by anyone during time and they will end to be completely ignored.
..Maybe I am naive.
