Auspost having to do it makes precisely zero sense.
Australia has unique specs for passport pics, the embassy sent me to a local photographer who does photos with those specs so it would be compliant for the emergency passport and then they get noped out on Australian soil despite being in my travel doc..
No point arguing that with a post office employee though, everyone is “just doing their jobs”
After the first refusal I was a bit paranoid, the lightning in the post office was crap, the lady barely tried… the pic was ok, I got the documents I needed.
The issue is not only with passports, it’s pretty much every photo ID in Aus.
