Uh, no. Don't just replace the outlet. You need to ascertain the wire Guage that is going to the outlet. That is the real limit of the circuit, no matter what the outlet or breaker are rated for. Please be safe. Electrical fires are just about the worst.

concur, and make sure the circuit breaker is appropriate for wire gauge.

yellow. awg 12 cu 2 cdr with awg 12 ground 600 volts.

ok. suitable for 20 amp. just browning from prolonged use. buy and install a quality receptacle

That was my 1st thought. Throw in some 12-2 and replace the outlet with an AFCI. GFCI is great but if the arc doesn't cause a ground the power will stay live.

Hell my house was built & wired pre building code & I have 12 gauge in the walls. No grounds though funny enough
