Yes, I’ve had the same experience. I work in a male dominated technical field, though, and in the last 12 months I’ve orange pulled 3 co-workers. I also went to a nostr meetup and hung out, and met another nostrich while traveling.
Give it some time, you will find people.
When you do, it’s quite amazing the openness, talent, and depth they have. We went shooting after the nostr meetup, I left my spotting scope at the shooting range for 15 minutes, and nostr:npub1v7ywtk3v67ne72hqpwngzpadp9f7gjzplr3vqn3utkyzv3snadpsu6nn9m had pulled some tools out of his car, repaired, cleaned, and lubed my dilapidated 30 year old scope. And that’s just one example.
