Agreed.

Even on Nostr, too many believe they are entitled to other’s attention. The same people who are constantly muted across the board, continually complain and cry about free speech.

As for corporate social media platforms, their algorithm chooses what you see/hear. The choice isn’t yours.

Free speech includes both the ability to say what you think, and having the ability to listen to what you want.

nobody “deserves” attention, but plenty can earn it

once earned, tho, platforms still get in the way

true, free speech isn’t just about who gets to talk—it’s also about who gets heard. both sides need attention for it to really work

and if listeners/readers want to hear/see what you’re saying, but your speech doesn’t show up for them, you will choose to stop speaking. technically upstream of censorship
